Cycling through the Carpathians

The Carpathian Mountains are among the most impressive mountain regions in Europe, stretching across several countries in Central and Eastern Europe.

On my trip, I want to discover this diverse landscape with its mountains, forests, and cultural attractions.
Even during the planning stages, I realize that there are many exciting places along the route that can be perfectly combined.

My planned cycling trip through the Carpathians

For my next trip, I'm planning a roughly four-week cycling tour through the Carpathian Mountains.
Each day I intend to cover stages of approximately 60 to 100 kilometers.
In between, I'll take longer breaks in various towns and cities to rest and explore the places at my leisure.

My tour will begin in Košice, Slovakia.
From there, I'll set off by bicycle eastward, gathering my first impressions of the landscape. The city is a good starting point and boasts a beautiful historic old town.

One of the first major stops on my trip will be Lviv.
I plan to spend a rest day there exploring the old town, strolling through the streets, and sampling the local cuisine.

My route then takes me to Chernivtsi, the historical capital of Bukovina.
I am particularly excited to see the impressive university complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The next major leg of my journey takes me to Bistrița, before I finally reach Brașov.
The city lies nestled in the mountains and offers many opportunities for excursions into the surrounding area.
From there, I also plan to visit the famous Bran Castle.

I plan to end my trip in Belgrade. After many kilometers on my bicycle, I would like to spend a few days there, explore the city and reflect on the impressions of my cycling tour through the Carpathians.
