About me - What motivates me?

Exploring the world
For years I've traveled with a backpack, with and without a bicycle, and with an open mind, eager to experience distant countries and cultures firsthand. I don't just seek out famous sights, but also direct contact with local people. Conversations, shared meals, or small everyday moments often provide the most authentic insights into a country. Along the way, I learn to embrace new situations, be spontaneous, and appreciate simple things. Every trip broadens my horizons, brings new perspectives, and leaves me with memories that go far beyond photographs. For me, travel becomes a personal journey of discovery.
With this website, I take you along on my travels and share personal experiences and practical tips.

Where will my journey take me next?
Music
When I play the saxophone, a special moment arises for me – a feeling of inner freedom that is difficult to put into words. The world of music is boundless for me. I also enjoy sitting in small clubs and listening to musicians who have dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to their art.
My biggest dream is to one day travel with my saxophone and combine music and discovery.
My 5 cents
The saxophone has been with me for about 25 years – with longer breaks in between, almost like a bit of an on-again, off-again relationship. Things are a bit quieter at the moment, but I know from experience: the music always finds its way back to me. I don't play in a band, but primarily for myself and for friends.

Living spaces and homes
Professionally, I worked in automation technology for many years. The world of technology, systems, and efficient solutions shaped my career path and enabled me to earn a living. But alongside this rational, structured world, there is a passion that excites me in a completely different way: real estate.
I am particularly fascinated by old houses. Buildings that have already experienced many decades or even centuries carry stories within their walls. Often they are showing their age, sometimes even forgotten – but that is precisely where their special appeal lies for me. I love the idea of breathing new life into such houses, preserving their substance while simultaneously bringing new energy into them. It is a process of discovery, understanding, and careful renewal.
For me, it's not just about renovation or design. It's more about the idea of transforming a place back into a home – a place where history and the present converge. Old materials, established structures, and the charm of bygone eras can be combined with new ideas to create something unique.
A long-held dream of mine is to one day acquire another property in Southern Europe – perhaps in the South of France or Italy. Both regions embody many of the things I love: a rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, delicious food, and a unique way of life. A house there would be more than just real estate to me. It would be a temporary residence, a retreat, and a source of inspiration.
The idea of carefully renovating an old house in this setting, breathing new life into it, and spending time there regularly is very motivating for me. Perhaps this idea will one day become reality – and an old house will become a very personal place with a new history.
